BREWER AND HERMON - Lloyd Henderson, 73, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on May 8, 2015. He was born in Levant, Maine, on March 12, 1942.
Lloyd and his family lived in Hermon, where he lived and worked on a farm. He particularly loved horses and tractors. Lloyd worked for the Coca Cola Company for twenty years. Lloyd's sense of humor made those around him break out in laughter. He loved stock-car racing, fishing, participating in Special Olympics, going to concerts and hanging out with friends. He especially liked spending time at Camp. Lloyd will be remembered most for singing Johnny Cash songs, yodeling, playing his harmonica and his "one-liners" just to catch a smile!
He was predeceased by his wife, June; parents, Mabel and Carlton Henderson; sisters, Rosalie and Eleanor; and a brother, Glen. He is survived by two sisters, Betty Porter and Christina Thomas; as well as one brother, Rodney Henderson. He will be sadly missed by all of his OHI friends and family, who considered it a great honor to know him and share in his life experiences. A special thanks to everyone who participated in his life.
A celebration of his life will be held on May 29, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the OHI office in the Twin City Plaza, Brewer. Please wear your country western attire in respect of a man who loved country music. A committal service will be held following the celebration at 1:30 p.m. at Waugh Cemetery, Levant. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to St. Joseph Hospice, 360 Broadway, Bangor, ME 04401. Arrangements by Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer.
