Linda's Story

OLD TOWN - Linda M. (Kennedy) Emmons, 72, passed away unexpectedly on August 8, 2015, after being treated short-term at EMMC then entering a Bangor rehab facility. Linda was born May 17, 1943 in Old Town, the daughter of James T. Sr. and Dorothy (Wickett) Kennedy.

Linda grew up in Brockton, MA and Argyle. She spent most of her adult life raising her children in Whitman, MA before returning to Maine in 1985. She was very passionate about volunteering at her church, The Full Gospel Assembly of Lagrange; she was an avid bingo player and loved spending time with her family and friends.

Linda is survived by most importantly her loving brother, James T. Kennedy Sr. and his wife Caroline of Alton. Also, by her five children; Michael Emmons and wife Dotty from Wilmington, MA, Robert Emmons of Attleboro, MA, Cindy York and husband Lester of Alton, Sue Good and husband Jon of Gloucester, MA, Colleen Emmons of Alton; Linda's prized grandchildren, Kelsey Murray, Kaya Whiteley, Ariel York, Jonny Good, Zachary York, Josh Whiteley, Whitney Good, Courtney Good and her two great-grandchildren, Myla Murray and Kaylee Murray; Linda was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband, Everett W. Emmons, and her sister, Elizabeth "Poppy" Boynton. Linda was also a loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Tuesday August 11, 2015 from 11am-2pm, with funeral services at 2pm, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main. St. Old Town, ME.
