Letha V. Finnemore, 96, passed away Wednesday morning, September 14, 2016, at a Caribou nursing facility, following a period of declining health. She was born March 5, 1920, in Caswell, the daughter of Laurin F. Sr. and Beatrice (O'Neal) Finnemore.
Letha attended Caswell schools and was a graduate of the Limestone High School, Class of 1937. She had been a dedicated member of the former Caswell Methodist Church where she served as organist and Sunday school teacher, and later attended the Limestone United Methodist Church. Letha had been employed at Cyr's Department Store, Limestone for a number of years and also assisted with the family farming operation in Caswell.
She was predeceased by her parents and is survived by her brother, Laurin F. Finnemore Jr. of Caswell; as well as several extended family members.
Friends may call Friday, September 16, 2016, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday, September 17, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Meg McLaughlin Hegemann officiating. Interment will follow at Advent Cemetery, Limestone. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Letha to the charity or organization of one's choice.
