Lester's Story

WOODVILLE - WOODVILLE - Lester "Hut" Tapley, 90, died March 10, 2015 in Bangor. He was born April 1, 1925 in Millinocket the son of Edward & Cecelia (LaPage) Tapley. Lester was a veteran of the US Navy and served time in World War II and the Korean War.

He is survived by 4 children: Trudell (Kinney) Baim of Hebron, ME, Cheryl Hanson of Holiday, FL, Timothy Tapley of Woodville and daughter-in-law, Sherrill Kinney; 7 grandchildren: Davey Baim, Jr. , Penelope (Baim) Block, Hugh Hanson, Jr., Michael Kinney, Emily Kinney, Andrea Kinney and Justin Tapley; 2 great-grandchildren: Amory and Arabella Block; 5 brothers: Ralph Tapley, Edward Jr., Jimmy Mason and Paul Mason of E. Millinocket, and Stanley Mason of N.C.; 2 sisters: Carolee Brackett and Gwendolyn Richards of Mattawamkeag. Lester was pre-deceased by his parents, wife, Sylvia, brother, Leonard, granddaughter, Phylicia, brother, Wally and sister, Olavine.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 1pm, Sun., June 7 at the Woodville Cemetery with Pastor Muehlhauser officiating. Fellowship potluck following the service at the 7th Day Adventist Church of Lincoln. For online condolences please visit www.bowersfuneralhome.com
