Leslie's Story

BRADFORD - Leslie "Les" "Smitty" Allen Smith, 74, died unexpectedly May 15, 2016. He was born May 9, 1942 in Milo, son of Arthur C. and Ruth W. Smith.

Les worked for Local 621 Union and owned and operated Smitty's Cabinet and Millwork where he was known for producing his famous turkey calls. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed gardening and beekeeping. He enjoyed many years at his and wife, Jean's camp on Boyd Lake and spending precious time with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Jean Smith of Bradford; three children, Lanette Blackwell and her husband, Gary of Corinth, Jeff Smith and his wife, Stacie of Bradford, and Jamie Smith and his wife, Stacy of Bradford; ten grandchildren, Tony and his wife, Cyndil, Lindsey and her husband, Jared, J.J. , Emily and her husband, Tarik, Tyler, Craig, Heidi and her husband, Jason, Joshua, Hali, and Jadon; two step-grandchildren, Jake and Brianna; 4 great-grandchildren, Ian, Julian, Elliot, and Zander; two brothers, Bob and Douglass Smith; sisters-in-law, Janet and Pricilla Smith; many nieces and nephews; and his mother, Ruth E. Smith, 99, of Bradford.

A graveside service will be held on Friday May 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Mill Cemetery on Station Road in Bradford. Friends and relative are invited to a gathering at the Bradford Baptist Church following the service.
