LEVANT - Lesley V. Michaud, 72, passed away at home on November 17, 2015 following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Over the years, she "lived" with this disease which has now taken her life and continued to laugh and love. Born in Richmond, Virginia on September 19, 1943, the first child of two to Arnold Lester Michaels and Greta (Larsson) Michaels. The beloved niece of Ellen Birgit (Larsson) Thorsson and her husband Knut Thorsson.
She is survived by her loving husband, Maurice Eugene Michaud of Lewiston, Maine who has faithfully and stalwartly taken care of through the years. Her sister, Linda Lozano of Augusta, Maine who has had the incredible good fortune to have had such a wonderful sister and friend. Her niece, Lisa Vivian Kurach of Delaware and daughter Isabella who will miss her more then words can say. Her nephew, James Alexander Lozano and family of Upton, Massachusettes will always carry her in their hearts.
There are special friends, both near and far which will miss her dearly.
Lesley was an amazing woman, both loving and overly generous to those who were lucky enough to have her in their lives. She filled any space she entered with warmth, laughter, and love. She was lover of nature, enjoyed her garden and all the wonders of the world's beauty. She filled her home with art, plants, cats and whimsy. She and her husband traveled to far reaches of the world over the years exploring, learning, and enjoying.
Throughout the years she worked and fundraised for P.A.L.S., a non-kill animal shelter, as well as for other organizations which reach out to those in great need and are often forgotten.
