Leona's Story

ADDISON - Leona Bailey passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 21, 2015. Leona was born on May 23, 1934 in Machias, the daughter of Benjamin and Iva (Grant) Dorr. Leona worked for Crossroads for 25 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister.

She is survived by James Bailey and his wife Karen of Columbia, Ralph Bailey of Addison, Dianne Farren and her husband Sidney of Addison, Gloria Allen and her husband Michael of Centerville; Ten grandchildren- Kim Bailey Look, Willard Bailey, Jamie Bailey, Katryn Bailey, Orianna Bailey, Maggie Bailey, April Strout, Mitchell Farren, Amanda Crowley and her husband Alan, Christopher Allen; Five great grandchildren-Kristina Bailey, Zachary and Kyle Look, Sydney Strout, Ripley Strout, Khloe Farren, Allison and Layla Bailey; Two great great grandchildren-Abel Schoppee and Casey Benjamin Strout; one sister-Barbara Pinkham, several nieces and cousins and special friends- Eva Dorr, Hilda Curtis, and Carol Coffin.

She was predeceased by her first husband Ralph Bailey, son Butchie Bailey, and daughter Becky Merritt.

Leona's funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015, 11am at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home in Milbridge, with a reception to follow. Committal service and burial will be at Great Hill Cemetery in Columbia Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rebecca Merritt Scholarship Fund c/o Camden National Bank in Milbridge, ME. Arrangements entrusted to Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home in Milbridge.
