Lenora Mae Tracy (Merchant), 85, died unexpectedly Aug. 29, 2016, at a Brewer Nursing Home. Born Nov. 26, 1930, in Jonesport, ME, she was the youngest daughter of Ephraim and Lenora (Pendleton) Merchant.
She was a Jonesport-Beals High School graduate of 1949 and worked at the Underwood's and Pinch Penny sardine factories before they closed. She married Frank S. Tracy, Jan. 12, 1956, and became a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who was very much loved in return. In addition to her family, she loved Church and reading. For years she cooked meals to give to the Bangor Homeless Shelter and loved to work the Brewer voting tables at election time. She was also the coordinator of the "Share Boxes" at the Brewer Housing Colonial Circle Community, where she lived for 28 years.
She was predeceased by her husband of 24 years; sisters, Winifred Merchant and Maxine Alley; and brothers, Robert, George, Gerald, Orral, Julian, John, Allan and Ephraim Merchant Jr. She is survived by her sons, Frank L. and wife, Tracy, of Manchester, N.H., and William M. and wife, Judy, of Woolwich, ME.; a daughter Sarah J. Tracy-Hopkins and husband, Jeffrey, of Monroe, ME.; two very special granddaughters, April Miles and her husband, Anthony, of Winterport, ME, and Aja Tracy-Trieb of Burlington, VT; a much loved great-granddaughter, Arabella Mae Miles of Winterport; and six much loved great-grandchildren, Dominic, Christian, Trinity, Carrie, Lenora and Willow all of Vermont; a special sister-in-law, Olive Merchant Beal of Beals, ME; a special friend, Helen Bean of Brewer, ME; and lots of nieces and nephews.
Officiant will be her nephew, Pastor Allan R. Merchant.
