LEE's Story

EXETER - Lee Duane White Sr., 83, beloved husband of 62 years to the late Gertrude "Trudy" (Cates) White, died October 19, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Washington D.C., December 23, 1930, the son of Samuel and Georgia (McLaughlin) White.

Lee served in the Air National Guard from the Korean War until his retirement in 1987. He had a great love of old tractors, and would tinker on them for hours at his home. Lee was a member of Pacific Lodge #64 A.F. & A.M. in Exeter as well as American Legion Post #73 in Corinna.

Lee is survived by five children, Cheryl House and her husband, John of Exeter, Debbie Nutter and her husband, David of Benton, Lee White Jr. and his wife, Susan, Michael White and his wife, Shannon, Scott White and Jude Mugford, all of Exeter; eight grandchildren, Mitchell Bailey and his wife, Mindie of Ohio, Tyler, Michaela, Zach, Andrew, Jeffrey, Shaun White and Michael Nguyen; a sister, Phebe Durgin and her husband, John; as well as several nieces and nephews. Lee was predeceased by his daughter, Julie White.

Friends and family may gather at Crowell Hill Cemetery, Exeter, 1 p.m. Sunday, October 26 for a graveside memorial service. The family would like to invite everyone to join them in a time of sharing at the Exeter School from 2-4 p.m. following the service.
