Lee's Story

CHARLESTON - Lee C. 'Squeak' Brown, 49, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Charleston Dec. 21, 2014. He was born June 22, 1965 in Bangor, the son of Earl and Luella (McQuesten) Brown.

Lee spent his life in Charleston and attended Charleston schools, Foxcroft Academy in Dover-Foxcroft and graduated from Bangor High School in 1994. Throughout his three years at FA, he worked part time for Barry and Mary Higgins milking cows and general farm work. He enjoyed this work and continued this throughout his life. In recent years if Lee wasn't delivering newspapers, he could be found doing landscaping, or caring for his wife or his daughter Roni or his grandfather Jack and his dogs. Lee enjoyed poetry, keeping abreast of the stock market, country music or dancing which he was excellent at or his favorite, spending time with the apple of his eye, his grandson, Eddy Bubar. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. Family and friends will remember Lee (Squeak) as a quiet man of great integrity, intelligent, passionate and a generous man of faith who could always utter the right words of advice for anyone in need. He was devoted to his family, friends and his community and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Katherine 'Molly' (Saunders) Brown; his daughters, Samantha King and companion Dustin 'Nutt' Bubar of Orneville and Veronica McLain of Charleston; his mother Luella Woodard of Wrentham, MA; his very special stepfather Stanley Woodard who raised him as his own of Dover-Foxcroft; his grandchildren Eddy, Hailey, Lexi and Tessa of Orneville; special brother, William Sprague, with whom he had a special devotion, and his wife, Linda of Wrentham, MA; step brother, Tony Woodard of Milo; special sisters, Kelly Brown and her companion Joe of Eddington and Laurie Ann Woodard and her companion Jimmy Shorey of Dover-Foxcroft; grandfather, Marlon Feith of Levant; nieces, Nicole Jean Alexander of Auburn, MA, Rachel Sprague of Derry, NH, Natasha Emery of Milo, Brittany Goodwin, Kyla Jean, Caoilinn Luella and Cliona Lee Sprague of Wrentham, MA; Kendra and Kayla of Dover-Foxcroft; Mandy of Guilford; Ashley and Amanda of Dover-Foxcroft; nephews, Joshua Sprague of Lisbon, NH, Joshua Goodwin, Caleb Emery of Milo, Dean Munson of Sangerville, Caius Spring, Keegan, Connor Sprague of Wrentham, MA, Antonio, Riley, Brody; in-laws, Harry and Gloria Saunders; special sister-in-law, Phyllis Emery and husband Dana of Milo, Mark Saunders and Laurie of Dover-Foxcroft, Dean Munson and Valerie Saunders of Sebec, Tracy Saunders of Milo, special sisters-in-law, Cindy Herrick and Dawn Munson; mother and father-in-law, Gloria and Harrison Saunders.

In addition to his father, Lee was predeceased by brothers Colin E. Brown and Arthur T. Woodard, a special niece, Jessica, two nephews, Tony Jr. and Douglass, grandfathers, Wallace H. McQuesten, Ernest C. Brown and John Munson whom he cared for the last 15 years prior to his death; grandmothers, Luella M. (Ordway) McQuesten, Virginia (Sprague) Feith and Katholyn Munson, great grandmother, Doris I. Kene (Leathers) Sprague, and a special recently deceased uncle, Wallace J. McQuesten. He will be sadly missed by many cousins, aunts and uncles and his best friend Robert Goodwin and his parents Annie and Gundy Goodwin.

Spring burial services will be held 2 PM Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the Puddledock Cemetery, Charleston with Pastor Robert Young officiating All are invited to the Charleston Town Hall, on the School Road, following the service for a special luncheon. Arrangements are in care of Thompson Funeral Home, Corinth.
