DEXTER - Laurence Fredrick Hartford, 89, died peacefully at home November 10, 2014. He was born September 24, 1925 in Mapleton, a son of Melzer and Ida (Perkins) Hartford.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a longtime dairy farmer and worked many years at Fayscott-Landis Machine Shop in Dexter.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 72 years, Yvonne (Knowles) Hartford of Dexter; a son, Dana and wife, Colleen Hartford of Newport; 2 daughters, Nancy Frautten and husband Ed, and Diana Warren and Ken Pooler, all of Dexter; 7 grandchildren, Darren and wife, Angela of Sidney, Suzanne Hartford and husband, Zachary Burkett of Frederick, MD, Marsha Hartford-Sapp and husband, William Sapp, Jr. of Tallahassee, FL, Darcy Hartford and husband, Sumner Doten of Hill, NH, Michael Frautten and wife, Nicky of Falmouth, Scott and wife, Terri Warren of Sebastian, FL, and Shari and husband, Paul Gregory of Winslow; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother Elmer Lyons, sisters, Marion Cooper, Marjorie Hooper; a granddaughter, Kathi Frautten, and a great-granddaughter, Savannah Warren.
Laurence requested that there be no visiting hours or funeral services. A graveside committal service will be held at the convenience of the family. Spring burial will be in Mt.
