Lanette's Story

BRADLEY - Lanette M. Landry Petrie, 73, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2015 as a result of advanced pulmonary fibrosis disease complicated by pneumonia. She was born to the late Eugene E. and Joan Delcina (Pelletier) Landry on September 10, 1942.

Lanette graduated from John Bapst High School, Bangor, and worked in various roles over a span of 25 years at the University of Maine, Orono. There she re-discovered her Franco American heritage and developed a passion for sharing her story in both written and verbal forms. Lanette was a woman of strong faith and devotion to her church and her family.

She is survived by her life-time love and husband of 53 years, Richard; daughters, Melissa M. Bullock and her husband Darryl of Middletown, CT., Jennifer L Brooker and her husband Michael of Bangor, her darling granddaughter, Mallory Anne DeRoche, of Jamaica Plain, MA, five sisters, Evelyn Petrie and her husband, John of Milford, Margaret Roy and her husband Philip of Milford, Marie Forbus and her husband, Wayne of Canaan, Rose Landry of Bradley, Jean Mack and her husband, Will of Florida; 3 brothers, Clarence Landry and his wife, Gail of MA, Brian Landry and his wife, Ann of Bradley, James Landry and his wife, Sharon of Orrington. She also leaves a void in the lives of Ann Delaware with whom she shared most of her adult years as best friend and Janice Nadeau of Bradley, who was much like a third daughter to her and many nieces and nephews. Lanette was pre-deceased by her brother, Arthur H. Landry and his wife Dorothy of Stetson.

There will be no visiting hours. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Saturday, January 2, 2016 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Bradley. Family and friends are invited to the Church Hall following Mass for continued fellowship. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Old Town, in the Spring.
