YORK - Kimberly M. Ramsey, 46, of Surf Point Road in York, Maine died May 14, 2014 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a courageous four year battle against cancer. Born in Brunswick, May 25, 1967, she was a daughter of Dale and Nancy (Ferguson) Lynch.
She attended Kittery Schools, graduating from R.W. Traip Academy with the class of 1985, where she excelled in school sports including field hockey and softball. While living in the Philippines with her family she began riding at the local stable. This ignited a love of animals in her that led her to found the very successful Ramsey Stables in York in 1992, with prior husband and father of her children, David Ramsey. Kimberly was well respected in the Morgan Horse Show Circut, winning many multi world championships, and sharing her love of the sport with family and friends. Kim was a fixture working for many years at Cap'n Simeons in Kittery Point.
Her first love was unquestionably her family, a loving mother, daughter and sister was her first priority. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her including her children; Christopher Ramsey of Eliot and Kelsey Ramsey of California, her parents, Nancy and Dale Lynch of Patten, sister, Lisa and her husband, Aaron Lynch, brother, Ryan Lynch and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to visit with Kim's family, 5-8 p.m. Monday at the JS Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery Maine 03904. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Tuesday in her church, St. Christophers Church in York. Everyone is invited to a time of sharing and refreshment at Captain and Patty's (Cap'n Simeon's) in Kittery Point directly following the service. Care for the Ramsey family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey Funeral Home.
