Kenneth's Story

EAST MILLINOCKET AND ZEPHYRHILLS FLA - Kenneth Lawrence Darling, 59, passed away unexpectedly on December 13, 2014 in Tampa, Florida. Ken was born June 14, 1955 in Millinocket, the son of Lawrence and Audrey (McAvoy) Darling.

Ken was a 1975 graduate of Stearns High School. He continued with his life's work at the Millinocket Foundry & Machine Shop until his retirement in 2012 when he moved to Zephyrhills, Florida. Ken had a passion for hunting, fishing, and puttering around the house. He and his best friend and wife Ruth, would spend countless afternoons relaxing on their Harley motorcycles. He was a quiet, gentle soul with a grin of which he became famous for, creating his nickname "Grin"

He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth; sons, Adam and partner, Tina with grandson Jeffrey of Holden, Daniel with granddaughter Rhylie of Zephyrhills, FL; three brothers, Ronald and wife, Darlene, Thomas and wife, Sharon all of Millinocket, William and wife, Cindy of Medway; one sister Cynthia Darling Pickard and companion Pam Rossignol of Medway; mother-in-law, Joan Boynton of East Millinocket & Dade City, Florida; sister-in-law, Kim Pasanen and husband, Peter of East MiIlinocket; life long friend, Stephen Bouchard and family of Millinocket; special friend Harold St. Peter; many nieces, nephew, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Audrey and father-in-law, Wade Boynton.

Kenneth will be greatly missed but never forgotten by the many people who loved him.

Friends may call 10-11 a.m. Saturday, December 20th at the Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church, East Millinocket, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Regginal Adams officiating.
