Eddington - Keith R. Kinney Sr., 74, passed on to new life Monday, November 14, 2016, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Keith was born November 16, 1941, in Kinney Nation, Brockton, Maine.
Keith graduated from Hermon High in 1960, and following graduation worked with his father-in-law as a carpenter constructing numerous houses in Veazie. He then became the sole proprietor of East Side Mobil on the corner of State Street and Broadway, where he brazenly employed the first female gas attendant in the Bangor area, and then moved to Union Street and ran Airport Mobil. Tiring of running his own business, he became a Mechanic for B&C GMC in Hermon and retired from Varney's GMC where he specialized in the hard-to-find buzz, squeaks, and rattles in new vehicles. In retirement Keith traveled 47 states and spent many happy hours as the "family fix-it guy."
Keith leaves behind his true love and wife of 50 plus years Dorothy Parks Kinney, son and best friend Keith Kinney Jr. and spouse Karen, daughter and traveling buddy Kelley Kinney Sewell and spouse Jon. Four loving grandchildren Kyle Kinney, Kory Kinney, Erica Sewell, and Marissa Sewell. Four adoring sisters, Linda Hurd, Jackie Getchell, Vicky Cornish and Jolene Burke.
The family invites relatives and friends to remember Keith at Greenlawn Memorial Funeral Home, Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. A brief celebration of life will be held at 5:45, all are welcome. In memory of Keith, donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Lafayette Center, 33 Whiting Hill Rd, Brewer, ME, or the Bangor Human Society, 693 Mt Hope Ave, Bangor, ME.
