Kathryn 'Ann''s Story
- Kathryn "Ann" (Roach) Cole died peacefully surrounded by her family at home in Bangor, Maine, on May 28, 2017, following a long illness.
Ann is survived by her loving, devoted husband of 39 years, Wilbert "Wib" Cole of Bangor; daughter, Corry Pratt and her wife, Robin, of Unity, ME; sons, Neal Pratt and his wife, Larissa, of Scarborough, ME, Joe Pratt and wife, Rebecca, of Bangor, ME, Michael Pratt and his wife, Marlo, of Portsmouth, RI, and Paul Pratt of Portland, ME; and eight wonderful grandchildren also survive her: Shawn and Aaron Dennis, Megan and Chelsea Pratt, Morgan and Charlotte Pratt, and Connor and Hailey Pratt.
Ann was born on July 8, 1939, in East Millinocket, ME, to Martin J. Roach and Kathryn E. (LeVasseur) Roach. She graduated from Schenck High School in East Millinocket. In 1968 she received a degree in Interior Design from LaSalle University, Chicago, IL, which she put to incredible use over her lifetime. In 1977 she graduated from Husson College, Bangor, ME, with a degree in Legal/Medical Administration. She obtained this degree, with honors, while simultaneously raising five children and working full time. She worked for many years as an administrator for the Bangor School Department and was Property Manager for a Bangor real estate company for several years prior to her retirement.
At Ann's request, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, she would greatly appreciate a donation to the Maine Chapter of the ASPCA or the Bangor Humane Society.
