Karen's Story

OLD TOWN - Karen Ruth Gott, 61, passed away peacefully March 29, 2015, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Bangor, October 18, 1953, the daughter of Edward and Joan (Littlefield) Gott.

Karen graduated Old Town High School, and The University of Maine, where she was an All Maine Woman and a member of Chi Omega sorority. She moved to mid-coast Maine 18 years ago and worked at Damariscotta Bank and Trust in Warren, as the branch manager. Karen loved to plan family get togethers, nothing was more important to Karen than her family. She was an active participant and fundraiser for cancer charities of Maine.

Karen is survived by her mother Joan Gott; siblings, Edward and Debbie Gott, Susan and Dan Perkins, Lauree Gott and Becky Bubar, Marty Arsenault; nieces and nephews Jamie Arsenault, Betsy and Fred Follansbee, Ted and Nina Gott, Daniel and Katie Perkins, Nathan and Sarah Perkins, Amanda and Brent Kinchen, and many great nieces and nephews. Karen was predeceased by her father Edward Gott Jr.; sister Brenda Arsenault; niece Katie Arsenault; grandparents Rolfe and Ruth Littlefield, Edward and Valma Gott.

Friends may call Saturday from 2-4 at Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St. Old Town. A Memorial service will be conducted 3:30 Monday April 6, at the Stillwater Federated Church and light luncheon will follow.

Memorial contributions may be made to a cancer charity of one's choice.
