Judson's Story

AUGUSTA - Judson M. Roberts, age 89, died Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Maine Veterans Home, Augusta, following a long illness. He was born in Haynesville, ME on May 13, 1926 a son of the late Cecil and Etta (Smart) Roberts.

Jud was a US Army veteran, serving in the Rhineland and Central Europe during World War II.

He had been employed at WRDO for 16 years as an Account Executive and later owned and published the Maine Snowmobiler Magazine.

Jud was a member of Hope Baptist Church, the American Legion and the Maine Snowmobile Association.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Corliss Anne Roberts and a brother, Victor Roberts.

Jud is survived by his wife of 67 years, Eula E. (Corliss) Roberts of Augusta; a son, William Roberts; a brother, Theodore Roberts of New York; a sister, Margaret Gerow of Florida and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no public visiting hours or funeral service. Burial will be at a later date at the Golden Ridge Cemetery in Sherman Mills.
