Judith's Story

ELLSWORTH - Judith Lovern Williams (Andrews) Guildford passed away on February 6, 2016, in Augusta, Maine, from Alzheimer's Disease. She was born on November 16, 1933, in Brockton, Massachusetts, to Beatrice (Congdon) and Ozwald Williams. After her parents decided they were better friends than spouses, Judy gained a dad, Gordon Andrews, and a wonderful stepmom, Janet. She always said she felt so blessed to have 2 such wonderful dads!

She married Warren (Gill) Gale Guildford on June 25, 1954, and they settled in Foxboro, Massachusetts, where they had 8 children. In 1968 they moved the whole family to Ellsworth, Maine, where they raised their family and spent the rest of their lives together.

Judy's whole life revolved around her family. Her favorite jobs, besides that, were floral designer for M. A. Clark's Florists and manager of the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry in Ellsworth.

Judy was predeceased by all her parents; a baby brother; her beloved husband of 53 years; her brother, Laverne (Bud) Andrews; her sister, Marilyn Ferreira; her sister, CarolJean Phillips; and her great-granddaughter, Navaeh.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Kerry and Kim Guildford, Stephanie Cote, Guy Guildford and Vivian Bartlett, Joel Guildford, Leigh and Kerry Guildford, Adam Guildford and Jessie, Todd Guildford and Dawn Spohrer, Meredith and JeanMarie Mathieu, and the grandson they raised as a son, Todd Guildford, Jr. She is also survived by her brother and his wife, John and Margaret Andrews; brother and sister-in-law, Nicholas and Lucille Anagnos as well as her daughters-in-law, Betty Curtis, Debra Guildford, Joan Higgins and Dinah Guildford; and son-in-law Albert Cote. She will also be missed by 24 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 13, at 12 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints in Farmingdale, Maine. Burial will be in the spring at the Maine Veterans' Cemetery in Augusta, Maine. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry in Ellsworth, Maine, or the Alzheimers' Care Center, Dresden Ave., Gardiner, Maine. Arrangements are being handled by Staples Funeral Home in Gardiner, Maine.
