CLIFTON - Judith Lee Achorn Jellison, 78, passed away in Bangor, on April 2, 2016.
The daughter of Clarice (Smith) and Edgar Gooch, she was raised in Bangor, graduated from Bangor High, and then moved on to Husson College, where she obtained an associates degree in business administration. During her career she held a wide variety of positions finally retiring from the R. Leon Williams Lumber Company in Clifton. Judy was first and foremost a mom, dedicated to her family; she was likewise fond of dancing, the ocean, camping with family and friends, and the social gatherings of loved ones. She was an avid crossword enthusiast and crafter, having spent some time working the craft fairs with her daughter.
Judy was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Janet Fleming; her beloved husband of 35 years, Ralph; and her son-in-law, Lindy Leavitt. She is survived by her sister, Jeanne Everett; her daughter, Dawn Marie Leavitt of Smithfield; sons, Bret Achorn and his wife, Ginny, of Amherst, Ray Achorn of Eddington, Jeffery Achorn of Clifton, and Todd Achorn and his partner, Joe Turner, of Smithfield; her stepsons, Ralph Jellison Jr. and wife, Kathleen, John Jellison and his wife, Cissy, and Troy Jellison and his wife, Amy; along with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial ceremony will be held 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at Clifton United Baptist Church, 742 Airline Road, immediately followed by a celebration of Judy's life at her home, complimented by punch, pints and pie. Her interment is planned for late spring
