MILO - Judith Mildred (Hamm) Comeau, 66, was called home to her Heavenly Father, April 23, 2014. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Judy was born Jan. 17, 1948, in Old Town, and was a long time resident of Milo.
She will be especially remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit and sense of humor. Judy had an intense love of nature and enjoyed working in her beautiful flower garden. She was a life-long animal lover and always opened her heart and her home to any animal in need of shelter. At the time of her death, she shared her home with seven beloved four-legged furry "children".
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Joseph A. Comeau; four children, Marie D. McIntire of Milo, Joseph A. Comeau II and his wife, Evelyn, of Brownville Jct., James W. Comeau of Milo, and Angel M. Ouellette and her husband, Glenn, of Brownville Jct.; one stepdaughter, Tammy L. Haskell of Bangor; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Judy is also survived by her mother, Regina R. (Ellis) Hamm of Old Town; six siblings, Patricia V. Palmer of Hampden, Paulette F. Borja and her husband, Ronald, of Alton, Eileen D. Carver and her husband, David, of Bradford; James A. Hamm, III and his wife, Debra, of Alton, Eva M. McLaughlin and her husband, Fred, of Alton, and Jessie B. Michaud and her husband, Leo, of Milford. Judy was predeceased by her father, James A. Hamm, II and a brother, Ray S. Hamm. Judy's family extends their thanks to the staff and volunteers at Pine Tree Hospice for their care and support.
Friends are invited to call from 12 noon until time of funeral service at 1p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the Lary Funeral Home, 31 Elm St., Milo. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends are welcome at the service and at the reception following burial at the Alton United Methodist Church Hall, 3484 Bennoch Road, Alton.
