HOULTON - Juanita Levesque 90, passed away May 29, 2015 at a local hospital. She was born January 3, 1925 in Houlton, the only child of William P. and Marion (White) Shea.
Juanita grew up in Houlton and graduated from Houlton High School, Class of 1942. She met and married George Levesque on January 3, 1945. In the late 1960's, Juanita went to work as an Administrative Assistant at Madigan Hospital and then at Houlton Regional Hospital. She was a longtime fan of the Boston Red Sox especially in the 60's and 70's when "Yaz" and Fisk were playing. She was a past member of the Rebekah Lodge. Juanita loved to read and cook, making a great oatmeal bread. She was very independent and protective of her family. She was always open to meeting new people and experiencing new things.
Juanita is survived by her two daughters, Karen Bickerman and her husband Peter of Readfield, Lucie Carpenter and her husband Kevin of New Limerick; five grandchildren, Joshua Bickerman, Erin Levesque, Kalyn Bickerman, Eric Carpenter and Taylor Carpenter; a great granddaughter, Cadence Bickerman; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband George and her infant son George.
Friends may call at the Dunn Funeral Home Tuesday, June 2, 2015, 11:00AM until the time of the service 12noon with Rev. Dennis Ashley officiating. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
