DENNYSVILLE - Joyce Lee Ward, age 83, passed away after a long illness on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Marshall's Healthcare in Machias, ME. She was born on June 15, 1932, in Eastport, to the late Ralph K. Woodman and Audrey (Nash) Woodman.
Joyce enjoyed knitting, cooking and watching the Red Sox with Alton. They also enjoyed shopping trips to Bangor. Joyce worked in local fish factories after her children were grown.
Joyce is survived by her daughters, Brenda Harmon and husband, Elmer, of Dennysville and Valerie Lingley and husband, Dwight, of Dennysville; sons, Randy Ward and fiancee, Tammy, of Virginia Beach, VA, and Michael Ward and wife, Susan, of Dennysville; grandchildren, Bobbie-Jo Brown and husband, Derek, Brandi Lingley and friend, Kip Collins, Travis Harmon, Jaime Harmon, Joshua Ward, Kimberly Ward, Nick Ward, T.J. Goodrow, Amanda Ward and Bradley Ward; great-grandchildren, Cody Brown and fiancee, Torie Metcalf, Kaylee Brown, Dante Lingley, Bella Collins and Emory Goodrow; also by a brother, David Woodman and wife, Bonnie; brothers-in-law, George Ward Jr., Joseph Hallstrom Sr. and Clifford Ward; and beloved sister-in-law, Shirley Wilder Godet.
Joyce was predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Mr. Alton Ward; both of her parents; sister, Beverly; and brothers, Richard and Kenneth.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Dennysville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Joyce to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, care of Linda Seeley, 570 South Edmunds Road, Edmunds, ME 04628. Arrangements entrusted to Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home in Machias, ME.
