SANGERVILLE - Joyce E. Thompson, 56, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 29, 2014, after a period of failing health, surrounded by her loving family, in Bangor.
She was born on March 16, 1958, in Presque Isle, Maine, the daughter of Wilfred and Chloris (Robbins) Greenlaw. She had many hobbies including beading, jewelry making, cooking and baking. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing games and collecting movies, lighthouses and blue glass. She had many friends and enjoyed connecting with them on Facebook. She loved her cat, Mittens, who was lovingly called Monster. She loved the Lord and attended the Rock Church in Bangor.
She is survived by her children, Amelia Carlow and husband, Kenny, of Central Falls, RI, Warren Jay and wife, Tara, of Sangerville, Lance Thompson and wife, Melissa, of Bangor and Mary Polley and husband, Tom, of Dexter; grandchildren, Arthur Carlow Jr, Tabitha Newsom, Kahlan Newsom, Adam Jay and Elijah Polley; siblings, Wilfred Greenlaw and wife, Elaine, of Dexter, Roger Greenlaw and wife, Christine, of Newport, Robert Greenlaw and wife, Ann, of Greenbush and Fred Greenlaw and fiancée, Elaiza Hérnandez, of Portland; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Warren Thompson; and a sister, Amelia Greenlaw.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, January 10, at the Deeper Life Assembly of God, Pittsfield, with the Rev. Matthew Bagley officiating. A gathering will follow in the fellowship hall.
