- Joyce E. Chapman, 63, passed away in her home on Nov. 1, 2016, with her family by her side. She had been battling cancer for years, but now is home with the Lord living pain free. Joyce was extremely talented, was a caring mother, wife and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, best friend and soulmate, Michael Chapman; her three children, Susan Morissette of Winslow, Shawn Witham of Bucksport and a special daughter, Sarah Boggs of Bangor; eight grandchildren, Athena, Anthony, Chris, Josh, Zachary, Jackie, Noah and Destiny; two great-grandchildren, Zara and Kyree; a very close sister, Gaye Cram (Chapman); two young men that mean the world to her, Rocky Boggs and Bill Morissette; and a close cousin, Laurie Garnier. She was predeceased by her parents, Larry and Ruth Hanscom of Bangor.
Her world was built around her husband, kids and grandkids. She loved each and everyone of them. Joyce worked for many years for Chapman's Cleaning Service, and was the owner and operator of Chapman's Kitchen for well over a decade, making homemade jams, chocolates and pastries. She loved home decorating, going to yard sales, doing crafts and baking, all with the kids by her side. Joyce was a Christian lady and put all of her faith into the Lord. May her beautiful, fierce soul forever rest in peace. Our family has gained another guardian angel, forever watching over us.
Family and friends are more than welcome to join our service at The Rock Church, Outer Ohio St., 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, with Pastor Kirk Winters (a close friend) officiating and his wife, Lisa, will sing. Refreshments will be served following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mike Chapman, and would be greatly appreciated.
