Joshua's Story

MADAWASKA & VAN BUREN - Joshua R. Parker, 35, died Thursday, April 21, 2016 at a Portland hospital following a long illness, with his family by his side. He was born December 10, 1980 in Fort Kent, the son of Walter S. Parker Jr. and Lise (Theriault) Parker.

Josh graduated from Madawaska High School, Class of 1999. He enjoyed working on computers, woodworking and loved his pets. He will be greatly missed by his two dogs, Marshall and Tucker, his cat, Cougar, and rabbit, Bella. He was an avid member of Battleaxe Warriors, assisting their drug-free and crime-free ideology and support system. Josh was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease at 9 years old. Though hindered by his disability, he was never shy to spread a smile on any who met him.

He is survived: his fiancée of eleven years, Jessica Bosse of Van Buren; his father, Walter S. Parker Jr. and his wife Joanne of Van Buren; his mother Lise (Theriault) Parker of Madawaska; three step-siblings, Jessica Bounville and her husband Nick and Jeffrey Santora, all of Leominster, MA, and Laurie Santora of Templeton, MA; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and many friends in the St. John Valley and beyond.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family 6-8PM on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 10th Ave., Madawaska.
