ABBOTT - Joseph C. Pensiero, 85, completed his pilgrimage January 13, 2015, and now he is home. He was born October 24, 1929 in Cold Spring, NY, the son of Joseph and Rose (Mammana) Pensiero.
Joe served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Following the service, he worked at a variety of jobs, including store owner, restaurant owner, masonry work, but was best known for his ministry in nursing homes, jails, and the "Good Samaritan Mission".
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Mona (Gourley) Pensiero; 3 sons, Greg, Mike and Wayne; and a daughter, Dawn; a sister, Josephine Hetherington; 3 step children, Wendell Hall and his wife, Debbie of Guilford, Jenny Larson and her husband, Stan of Charleston, and Wesley Hall and his wife, Gale of Dexter; many grandchildren; and great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by 3 brothers and a sister.
