JOSEPH's Story

CHARLESTON - Joseph C. Murray, 73, passed away Saturday November 7th, after a long, hard fight against several health problems.

Joe was a hard working man with an iron fist and a heart of gold who helped anyone in need. He loved driving truck and hauled heavy equipment across country for 25 years before retiring in 1982. He also loved riding his Harley and was a member of the Saracens MC until he was unable to ride anymore. His body gave out long before his heart did, but people still remember him flying through traffic with his beard blowing in the wind. He always said he had a long, good life and in this life he left behind many good friends and family that loved him dearly.

He is survived by his ex-wife, and still loving friend, Linda Murray of Charleston, who helped care for him until the very end of his fight. Joe was also a loving father to eight children and two stepchildren. Joseph C. Murray II, Eric Murray, William Murray, Krysta O'Neill, Daniel Murray, and Rebecka Tkachuk all of Wilmington and Tewksbury, MA where Joe and Linda were from. Also Mandi Murray of Charleston and Harley Murray of China, ME, and his stepchildren Jody Morse of Waldoboro,ME and Jason Britt of Fitzwilliams, NH. Also surviving are nineteen grandchildren who loved their Grandpa Joe.

Although he is no longer with us physically, each of his children hold a part of his huge personality. His sense of humor and outlook on life were two of his best qualities. He left us all with memories and stories that make us laugh until we cry and make us proud to have known him. We will love and miss you every single day and hope you're riding now in peace.
