NEW LIMERICK - Ray Eastham, 71, passed away July 4, 2014 at Houlton Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 13, 1942 in California, the son of Joseph Raymond Eastham, Sr. and Mary-Lou (McMurray) Eastham.
Ray served in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1961. He was originally stationed at Dows Air Force base in Bangor where he met his wife of 53 years Judith Anita Eastham and began their family. He was then stationed in Goosebay, Laborador. From there he went to Minot, North Dakota where he was honorably discharged. Ray served in several professional and civic organizations including the American Legion Post Commander, 7th District Commander, Aide of Dept. Commander and State Color Guard. He took great pride in his involvement with the Houlton Little League, being the past president of the Houlton Hockey Association and the past president of the Northern Maine Archers. Ray loved spending time fishing, hunting, archery but found most enjoyment out of teaching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren about everything from being an honest person to further developing their outdoor skills.
Ray is survived by his wife, Judy and their five children, Ken and his daughter, Lauren Eastham, Linda, her husband, Tim Kinney and their two sons, Timothy and Benjamin, Terri, her husband, David Dunn, their three children, D. Brandon, Madison and Alexander, Toni, her partner, Dave Polchies and their son, Tanner, Chris, his partner, Cindi Hannan and their three children, Ashley, Dustin and Isaiah Eastham; three great-grandsons, Landyn, Waylon and Brycen; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his first daughter, Sherri, siblings and his beloved chocolate lab, CoCo.
Friends may call at the Dunn Funeral Home, Tuesday 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home 11 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Wayne Robertson officiating.
