PITTSFIELD AND BANGOR - Joseph Edward Derosier, 78, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015, while a patient at a Pittsfield health care facility. Joseph was born in St Agatha, Aug. 20, 1937, the son of Denis and Irene (Chasse) Derosier. He attended schools in St. Agatha, Palmyra and at M. C. I. in Pittsfield.
Joseph worked many years in various shoe shops, Irving Tannery, drove a tractor trailer truck for 20 years, was a security guard, and had various other jobs, lastly working at Eastern Area Agency on Aging. He was in the Maine Army National Guard for 26 years, was a member of the Pittsfield Fire Dept. and had umpired Little League. He enjoyed sports, reading and traveling.
He is survived by sons, Lawrence C. Derosier and his wife, Lola, of New Jersey and Robert D. Derosier and his wife, Deborah, of Virginia; his daughter, Carla E. Kelley and her husband, Andrew, of Pittsfield; five grandchildren, Trevor, Trenton and Rachael Kelley, Nathan and Lenette Rammell; and several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Laura Mercier of Newport, Marc Derosier of Bangor, Patricia Atkinson of CT., Denis Derosier of CT. and Linda Shea of Florida; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Jacquelin; his father and mother, Denis and Irene Derosier; brothers, Camille Sr., Albert, George and Alfred; and sisters, Florence McLeod, Germaine Caron and Raymonde Ayotte.
At Joseph's request, there are no visitations. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the Pittsfield Village Cemetery with Deacon Tom Gilbert officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Service Center, 34 High Street, Newport.
