John's Story

STETSON - John Raymond Springer 70, died Sept 19, 2014 at a Bangor hospital following s brief illness. He was born in Stetson June 13, 1944 the son of Elden and Glenice (Day) Springer. John was a life long resident of Stetson, born and raised and worked there on the same plot of land. He worked for Snowflake Canning Co. in Corinna , Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna, and then owned and operated his own Dairy Farm full time.

John enjoyed spending time at camp on Moosehead Lake, hunting, fishing "drowning worms", riding the back roads, collecting and working on antique tractors. He adored his grandchildren and his nieces and nephews, and loved his Border Collies.

He is survived by his wife Lauralea (McIntosh) Springer of Stetson, threes sons and a daughter; son, Barney and his wife Debra and their children Cassandra and Sarah, his daughter, Jennifer Springer, son, Ken and his wife Jen, and their children Autumn, and Austin, son Ben, two brothers and two sisters; Malcolm and Charles, Diane Young, and Valerie Bartlett, several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Junior, George, and Calvin, and his sister Christine.
