PENOBSCOT - John M. Shook, 65, died peacefully with his loving family by his side on Oct. 24, 2014. John was born in Portland on August 18, 1949, the son of James and Rachael (Fields) Shook.
John was a dedicated husband and father. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. John was easy going, well respected and loved by all who knew him. He took pleasure from the simple things in life, such as a relaxing day of reading and watching Nascar. He was retired from the Bucksport Mill.
John is survived by his wife of 41 years, Paulette Shook; one son, Jason Shook and wife, Katie of Penobscot; three grandchildren: Julian, Jetta and Jemma; one sister, Jane Funk of PA; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Jim Shook.
Family and friends will gather for visitation from 12 until time of service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, ME, with Pastor Ron Pyle officiating. mitchelltweedie-young.com
