BANGOR AND ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL - John Edward Richard, 64, died February 18, 2015, at an Altamonte Springs healthcare facility of complications from cancer. He was born in Bangor, October 7, 1950, the son of Arthur and Mary (McGee) Richard.

John grew up in Bangor, graduating in 1968 from John Bapst High School where he enjoyed playing many sports. John also attended Husson College and was a MEX fraternity brother. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Boston Red Sox. John spent many years as a coffee salesman in eastern Maine, visiting many local establishments and sharing stories with those on his route, particularly customers on his Down East route. While in Maine, John also worked for Jordan Meats and MERT Enterprises; in Florida he worked in real estate and telemarketing. John enjoyed antiquing, exploring new places and was an avid history buff.

John is survived by his significant other of twenty two years, Bess Soucie of Altamonte Springs, FL; his children, Kimberly Richard of TN; and Patrick Knaide and his wife, Kerrie of Glenburn; Bess's sons, Brock Soucie and his wife, Velta of NJ, and Harold St. Germain of FL; eight grandchildren, Finegan and Shayla Richard; Cooper Knaide, Logan and Charlee-Ann Burns; Aleks and Anna Soucie; and Ezra St. Germain; two sisters, Carol (Richard) Lee, husband, Greg and sons of Columbia, MD; and Susan (Richard) Donahue, husband, Brian and sons of Bangor. He is also survived by close friend, Stanley Hanscom, and several cousins including special cousin, Mike Watters, and Aunt Irene Lucero.

John was predeceased by his parents, and several aunts and uncles.
