- John Plant met the Lord with his loving daughter, Judy, by his side, on Jan. 04, 2017. He was born in New Brunswick, Canada, to John and Beatrice (McQuade).
John attended schools in Fort Fairfield, Maine. He was a WWII veteran serving in the Army from 1943-1945, and was in the 7th wave in Normandy. John was wounded in Germany and received the Purple Heart. He was retired from the B&A Railroad.
John was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret; and daughter, Joyce; siblings, Willard and Muriel. He is survived by daughter, Judy (Stan) Banack of Zephyrhills, Fla.; sister-in-law, Joyce Plant; grandsons, Kirk, John, Kevin, Gary; granddaughters, Kim, Tammi and Sheri; many great-grandchildren and great-greats, and nieces and nephews and many cousins. John loved playing his guitar and singing around the campfire. He enjoyed the last 2 years living in Florida with Judy and Stan and meeting lots of new friends to play and sing to. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him and saw his smiling face.
Memorial and burial at a later date. Would like to thank the Gulfside Hospice for the great care they gave.
