John's Story

LINCOLN - John P. Lamson, born September 25, 1954 died July 24, 2015.

John loved the outdoors. He was a longtime member of Boy Scout Troop 50 spending many summers at Camp Roosevelt in East Eddington. He also toured the Allagash and Matagamon waterways many times as a scout. He received the honor of Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow his junior year in High School. Upon his graduation from Mattanawcook Academy in 1972 he joined the Navy. John achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer as an Avionics technician. During his tenure in the Navy he served on the aircraft carrier John F. Kennedy and the aircraft carrier the Coral Sea. Upon retiring from the Navy in 1994 John made his home on Mattanawcook Lake in his parent's home. There he enjoyed gardening, yard work and helping out friends and family.

John is predeceased by his parents, George I. Lamson and Janet (Boutaugh) Lamson and a brother in Law Randy Bratton.

He is survived by the light of his life his daughter Stephanie Voss and her husband Brian, and grandchildren Nicholas, Kayla, and Logan from Wonder Lake, IL. He is also survived by his Sister Dr. Mary Bratton, from Hartsville TN, Sister Ann Lamson from Lincoln ME, Sister Ruth Birtz and her husband Scott from Lincoln ME and Brother William Lamson and his wife Rosie from Oak Harbor WA and many nieces and nephews.

Out of respect for John's wishes there will be no service. The family would like to share the final wish from his daughter Stephanie who wanted to quote her father's favorite song, as she wishes her Daddy, " Green Grass and High Tides Forever."
