Joanne's Story

Bradley - Joanne A. Gallant, 82, passed away, October 10, 2016, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born in Brewer, December 7, 1933, the daughter of Clayton Jerry and Jennie (Powers) Boynton.
Joanne worked as a secretary in the shoe industry. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Jenny. Joanne was very active at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bradley, as well as hosting receptions and fundraisers with the Ladies of St. Ann's. Joanne was devoted to caring for the infirm, and was always visiting and sending well-wishing cards. She was also very proud to live in the town of Bradley and volunteered much of her time to planning Bradley's Bicentennial. Joanne loved crafting, ceramics, painting, quilting and cake decorating. Many of her summer days were spent at Chemo Pond, enjoying time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Joanne was predeceased by her husband, Leon "P.A." Gallant; and her dear grandson, John Monroe. She is survived by her daughter, Jenny Monroe of Bangor; granddaughter, Sara Monroe of Bangor and her father, Jack Monroe; great-grandsons, Shawn, Xavier, Cameron and Elijah; and Elijah's mother, Megan Smith. Joanne will also be missed by three sisters-in-law, Mona, Vivien and Valerie; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2016, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 84 Main Street, Bradley. Committal prayers will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Bradley. All are invited to a luncheon at St. Ann, following the committal.
