PITTSFIELD - Joan G. Zikorus, 83, died peacefully on Thursday, May 28, at her home in Pittsfield.
Joan was born on April 13, 1932, in Easton, Maine, the daughter of the late Richard and Hope (Higgins) Boone. She graduated from Foxcroft Academy with the class of 1950. She worked for many years at the Sebasticook Valley Hospital as an operating room technician. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and was a wonderful baker. She liked reading, sewing and really enjoyed dancing in her early years. She had a fun sense of humor and loved spending time with all of her brothers and sisters, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her four sons, Scott Hall and wife, Kris, of Derry, NH, Russ Hall and wife, Dena, of Pittsfield, Rob Hall and wife, Terri, of Pittsfield and Randy Hall and wife, Tracey, of Lisbon Falls; nine grandchildren, Chelsea, Heather, Ben and his wife, Natalia, Jason, Jimmy, Taylor, Kyle, Alex and Alyssa; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Clarice Sloat Call of Dover-Foxcroft and Sheila Lyons and husband, Jon, of Masardis; and brothers, Bill Boone and wife, Charlotte and Burt Boone and wife, Joeene, all of Dover-Foxcroft; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Albert Zikorus; son, Roger Hall; brothers, Richard Boone Jr. and Roger Boone; and her sister, Judy Alexa.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Barbara Wade and Mona Washington for their loving care of Joan.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-3 p.m., Tuesday, June 2, at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Avenue, Pittsfield. A private committal will be held by the immediate family at the Village Cemetery, Peltoma Avenue, in Pittsfield.
