Joan's Story

Joan T. Tash, 80, wife of Arnold E. 'Sonny" Tash, Jr., passed away July 16, 2016, at an Orono healthcare facility. She was born July 23, 1935, in Eagle Lake, the daughter of Rene and Isabelle (Souci) Audibert.

Joan was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. She worked as a dietitian at both the local hospital and schools. She was the fastest potato picker in Penobscot county. Joan enjoyed hunting and camping. She loved fishing and if she couldn't catch a fish, nobody could. She was loved dearly by many.

In addition to her husband, Sonny, she is survived by a daughter, Lisa Bayler; nine grandchildren, Shawn Lehman, Chris Tash, Seth Lehman, Arikka James, Lacey Schnepper, Trevor Tash, Wyatt Tash, Quade Lehman and Reese Bayler; a sister, Mary Jacquelene Davis; 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two children, Wanda Knights and Alan Tash; and many siblings.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 1-3 p.m. Friday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, with the Rev William Chesley officiating. Interment will be in South Chester Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to the Alzheimer's Association.
