NORTH FT. MYERS, FL - Joan H. Dill-Perkins, 83 died April 18, 2015 at Hope Hospice, Cape Coral, FL. She was born November 26, 1931 in Bangor, ME, the daughter of the late John and Madeline (Erickson) Ericson. She graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1949. She was a member of The Order of Eastern Star.
"Joanie" as most of her family and friends knew her, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She loved baking, knitting, quilting, fishing and swimming. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren & friends. She was most famous for her whoopee pies and bringing her family together with her cooking. Joanie never ended a night without ice cream. In addition, she was a homemaker of five children and then worked as a retail manager in the plumbing industry for over 20 years.
She is survived by her children, Dr. Calvin F. Dill of St. Petersburg, Fl., Mrs. Carol (Dill) Moynihan and husband Michael Moynihan of Atkinson, NH, Mrs. Kathryn (Perkins) Royal and husband, John Royal of Cape Coral, Fl. and Mrs. Kimberly (Perkins) Johnson and husband Simon Johnson of Southbury, CT. She also leaves behind her 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, Sister-in-laws and best friends, Mrs. Catherine Ericson and Mrs. Elaine Elkin many nieces and nephews, and special friends Ronald ,Corrine, Lee, Bobby, Gay & Marion.
She was predeceased by her loving son Bruce C. Dill, former husbands, Frederick C. Dill and Robert D. Perkins, 3 brothers, Gunner, Robert & John Ericson, and sister, Geraldine Willis.
Internment services will be held on July 25, 2015 at 11:30 at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Brewer, Me. Family & friends welcome.
