- Joan Elizabeth Cooper, 68, formerly of Weymouth, MA, passed away January 12, 2017, after a brief illness. She was born in Lynn, MA, November 12, 1948, the daughter of John A. and Winifred (Soanes) Blood.
Joan retired after 28 years of service with Verizon. She was an avid Patriots fan and doted on her beloved dog, Bailey.
She enjoyed classical music and movies.
Surviving are her only child, Lori Kennedy and her husband, Joseph of Orland; two grandchildren, Katarina Elizabeth Lee and Michael John Lee, both of Weymouth, MA; four cousins, Ruthie Elliott of Billerica, MA, Pattie Richardson and her husband Glenn of MI, Heidi Clifford and her husband, Billy of Sandown, NH, Chuck Blood and his wife, Megan of Marblehead, MA.
A service in celebration of her life will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, following the service. There will be a service in celebration of her life at a later date in Massachusetts.
