Joan's Story

FORT KENT - Joan (Bouchard) Albert, 81, died November 29, 2015 surrounded by family at a Fort Kent Health Care Facility.

She was born July 9, 1934 in Fort Kent, the daughter of Maxime and Wella (Deschaine) Bouchard.

Joan attended Madawaska Training school for 3 years prior to teaching before moving to Quebec so her husband could attend Medical School. She was active with the Prayer Shawl Ministries, and enjoyed knitting, reading, and cooking but most of all cherished her time with her children, grandchildren, and her friends. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her five Children and their spouses; Michael and Kelly Albert and 3 boys, Patrick, Evan, and Griffin of Springfield, Mass. Paul and Debbie Albert and 3 daughters; Belle, Gaby and Ave of Ellsworth. Denise and David Johnson of Presque Isle, John and Pam Albert and 2 sons; Joseph and Frank of West Gardiner, Charles and Jennifer Albert and 2 children, Sam and Anah of Fort Kent.

She is also survived by two brothers; Dr. Donald and wife Thelma Bouchard of Maryland, and Carroll Bouchard of Fort Kent.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Dr. Rodrigue J. Albert in 2001 and by her brother Joel Bouchard, and her sister Rita Bouchard.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 8 to 9:30 am Friday December 4, 2015, at the Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 am Friday at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent.
