WARREN - Jill Cogan Pottle, 85, passed away peacefully at the Sussman House in Rockport on January 5th after a brief illness with cancer. She was born in Warren on January 22, 1930, the daughter of Allen H. and Ann Field Cogan.
Jill was a 1947 graduate of Warren High School, and then worked for GTE Sylvania in Waldoboro for 34 years. She married Lewville Pottle on September 21, 1950. After retiring, Lew and Jill enjoyed traveling in their RV, including 19 winters spent in Nokomis, Florida where they made many lifelong friends.
Jill was a member of the Second Congregational Church in Warren for 65 years, was a member of the Camden Association, and was an active supporter of Coastal Opportunities for many years. After her retirement, Jill volunteered at PenBay Medical Center for 10 years.
Jill was predeceased by her husband, Lewville, this past October shortly after their 65th wedding anniversary; her sister, Annette Overlock and her husband Ted; brother-in-law, Russell Fales; brother-in-law, Paul Pottle and his wife Louise; sister-in-law, Marion Reed and her husband Howard; nieces, Crystal Eaton and Cindy Fales; and nephew, Ronnie Reed.
She is survived by her sister, Rae Fales; nephews, Rusty Fales, Robin Overlock and Fred Overlock; nieces, Donna Creamer, Vicky Terwilliger, and Pam Doherty, and the families of her nieces and nephews.
A joint memorial service honoring both Jill and Lewville, will be held at 2pm, on Saturday, January 30th at the Second Congregational Church in Warren.
