Jeremiah's Story

HOULTON AND MEADOWS PLACE, TX - Jeremiah Charles Upton, 26, of Meadows Place, TX, died August 31, 2015 as the result of a seizure. He was born August 26, 1989 in Myrtle Beach, SC, the son of Kevin Upton and Amanda (Kiser) Upton.

Jeremiah was a Chevalier and PMC of Mroz DeMolay Chapter in Falls Church, VA, and had completed his Fellowcraft degree in Freemasonry at Cherrydale #42 in Arlington, VA. He was a 2013 graduate of Radford University, a Visitor Service Representative at the Museum of Natural Science, a Research Assistant at Baylor College of Medicine and the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy, and had received early acceptance to Harvard College in the pre-med program. Jeremiah also enjoyed collecting antique medical bottles and medical research books and spending time with Debbie and his Dad exploring the Maine woods.

He is survived by his Father, Kevin & Debbie (Welton) Upton of Houlton; Mother, Amanda Upton & Carl Garris of Texas; brother, Michael Upton and sister, Katelyn Upton, both of Texas; paternal grandparents, Charles & Ida (Cole) Upton of Monticello; paternal great grandmother, Faye Cole of Monticello; Uncle Vernon & Rachel Upton and their son Joshua of Houlton; Uncle Pete Kiser (Renee), daughter Kendall Kiser of Myrtle Beach, SC, Uncle Steve Kiser of Amsterdam, Netherlands, maternal grandmother, Betty Kiser of Sterling, VA, and many other relatives throughout the US.

He is predeceased by his paternal great grandfather, Perry Cole and paternal great grandparents, Ivan & Vivian Upton, and by his maternal grandfather Hassan Kiser. Friends may call 4:30-5:30 PM, Thurs., Sept. 24 at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St, Houlton. Funeral services will be held at Bowers at 5:30 being officiated by Monument Lodge #96 AF & AM.
