FORT KENT - Jeannette C. Voisine, 87, beloved wife of Leon Voisine Sr., died on December 16, 2015, at a Fort Kent health care facility after a short and courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 2, 1928, in Wallagrass.
She was the daughter of Antoine Corriveau and Irene Pinette, who from an early age taught her a strong work ethic that she attempted to impart on her eleven children that survive her: Leeta (Richard) Pelletier, Gary (Cecile), Bernet (Bert) Gagnon, Tony (Joan), Tommy (Diane), all from Fort Kent, Bonita and Philip, both of Naples, Florida, Leon Jr. (Sue) of Fort Kent, Allen of Caribou, Ruth (Jules) St. Peter of Cross Lake Township and Donna of Bangor. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and another coming in January 2016. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Pauline (Albert Jr.) Guimond of Fort Kent, Nelson (Blanche) of Wallagrass, Delsie (Charlene) of Fort Kent, Rena (Leonard Jr.) Pelletier of Enfield, Jimmy (Norma) of Fort Kent and Eva (Robert) Michaud of Kensington, Connecticut. She is also survived by several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leone Daigle, Beth (Adolph Jr.) Gagnon and Roland (Bedette), all of Fort Kent; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband on November 13, 2002; her oldest sister, Jeanne (Orine) Pinette, on June 30, 1967; and her granddaughter, Sherri Gagnon on April 27, 1998.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Forest Hill Manor and the Hospice of Aroostook for the care and comfort given to our mother during her stay.
A memorial Mass will be held in the spring and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Those who wish in her memory may donate to the Edgar J. Paradis Cancer Fund, 194 E.
