WESTON - Jeannette M. (Green) Springer, 75, passed away unexpectedly, May 20, 2014, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb. 12, 1939, in Bridgewater, the daughter of Wyman and Irene Green.
She was a longtime member of Grand Lake Grange in Weston, holding the State Degree #6. As a member, she livened up the meetings with her peppy piano playing by "tickling the ivories". She also played mane musical selections for members of Danforth Baptist Church. Next to her family, she loved sharing her musical talent. Jeannette was active in her children's lives, whether at home playing countless games on snowy nights, to school activities, where she was a past president of the East Grand Athletic Boosters Club and assisted in the 4-H program, often meeting in her home. She was a faithful worker on the Community News for more than 30 years. She always brought a laugh and a positive spirit to the workplace, where she was known for her quick wit and fun-loving attitude. Jeannette was an avid reader, and often quipped "I hope I live long enough to read all my books".
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Darrell, and four children, Carla Rollins, of Weston, Karren and her husband, Keith Potter, of Weston, twins, Kirk Springer of Danforth and Kim and her husband, Ezra Stevens III, of Windham; three sisters, Lorraine and her husband, Dave Springer of Weston, Sheila and husband, Keith Goodall, of Caribou and Deanna and husband, Chris Nasto, of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey. She leaves grandchildren, Nathan and Jonathan Rollins, Timothy and wife, Jessica Potter, Jeannie and husband, Derek Hall, and Ezra Stevens IV; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Taylor Potter, Maicy and Mason Hall; special friends, Diane Morse (Lady Di) and Charlotte Clark (CC).
Friends may visit with the family at 12 noon Friday, May 23 at Danforth Baptist Church, where a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday.
