Jean D. Twist

Jean's Story

Lincoln - On Sunday August 21st, 2016, Jean D. Twist left this earth bound for a new glorious adventure. Jean was born in Island Falls, Maine on August 13, 1942, the daughter of Felix and Lucy (King) Bouchard. After high school she enrolled into the Maine School of Practical Nursing in Presque Isle and graduated in 1962. Upon graduating nursing school, she married Ronald Twist of Medway, the love of her life. They were married for 53 years and raised 6 beautiful girls together. Jean worked many years as a nurse and acted as the Health Officer for the town of Mattawamkeag for 24 years, where she was also very active in the Recreation Program. To her, family meant everything and came second to none. She was a wonderful wife and mother and built her life around her family. She was a woman who had a heart that never seemed to run out of room and she spent a lot of time helping those who needed it the most. Jean had a very vibrant style and a wild spirit that couldn't be tamed. She was colorful, spirited and more often than not, the life of the party. To most she was known as, "Momma Jean" and Momma Jean enjoyed life to fullest; dancing was her biggest passion. She made friends wherever she went and was a safe haven to many.
Jean is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Twist and their daughters, Rhonda Jean Vicaire, Leigh Ann Garland, Darcey Rae McQuaid, Ronni Jo Pelletier, Casey Elizabeth Twist, and Leanna Austin. Sons in-law, Clyde Garland Jr., Bit Vicaire, Robert Pelletier, and a daughter in-law, Crystal Theriault. Her grandchildren, Rikki White, Tayla Pelkey and her husband James, Nicholas Leonard, Colt Vicaire, Chase Vicaire and very special great-grandchildren, Tegan Sproul and Ethan Faulkner. A brother, Anthony Bouchard, and very special brothers in-law, Ben Curtis and Fred Pond. Very special sisters in-law, Carol Twist, Beverly Osborn, and Bonnie Harrison and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her mother and father, Felix and Lucy (King) Bouchard, her sisters, Theresa Curtis and Marie Pond. Brother George Bouchard, a mother and father in-law, Aubrey and Mildred Twist. Very special grandson, Jacob Garland, and a very special great-granddaughter, Kennedy White.
Jean's kindness and compassion was unyielding and she will be greatly missed by those who were fortunate enough to know her. Jean was blessed with many, many friends and special people in her life and she loved them all. As her family grieves, a community grieves with them. Rest in peace, dearest Jean. Until we meet again.
