- Jean (Rustin) Bond was graduated to heaven on December 18, 2016. She was born February 18, 1932 in Milford, the daughter of Ralph Sr. and Dora (McLaughlin) Rustin.
A lifelong resident of Milford, Jean attended Milford and Old Town schools and was a graduate of the University of Maine. After a long and distinguished career in teaching she retired from the English Department at Brewer High School. Jean was a faithful member of the United Baptist Church of Old Town, Maine where she served on various boards, committees, taught Sunday School, and shared her love of music through her participation in choir and special music offerings. During her retirement years Jean continued sharing her gift of teaching as she prepared for and hosted her weekly Women's Bible Study Group. Jean derived great pleasure being outside working in her numerous flower gardens, flower arranging, reading, and cooking for her family.
Jean is survived by her children, daughter Janie Christensen and husband David; son, Ryan Bond and wife, Angela; son, Michael Bond; and daughter, Laurie Flannery. Jean enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren Kari and Katie Christensen, Shane and Haleigh Bond, Kylan Flannery, and Kathryn Doiron, and her great grandson Mason Bond. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Ralph, Jr. (Pete) and Robert Rustin.
The family would like to extend its sincere appreciation to the staff on the cardiac care section and CCU at EMMC for their professional and compassionate care.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday December 30th at the United Baptist Church, 78 Middle Street, Old Town with Rev. David Christensen and Bruce Stevens officiating.
