Jay's Story

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL - The tragic loss of our beloved Jay Franklin Litz on July 13, 2014 is beyond our ability to comprehend. Jay's unique personality touched not only his family,friends, coworkers, colleagues, and students, but all those who knew him or met him.

His legacy of nurturing was commendable and remarkable. Jay left behind his wife Deborah Morse Litz of thirty-six years, two children, daughter Jillian Karen Litz, and son Richard (GEM) Litz.

Jay was known for deepened knowledge, wisdom, kindness, laughter, sense of humor and quick witticism. His unwavering dedication to his family was absolutely amazing. Jay was known for always lending a hand, guiding, mentoring and going above and beyond whatever was expected. Jay was our "Superman".

Jay was a dedicated teacher at Fort Lauderdale High School for 18 years and voted teacher of the year in 2009-2010.

Jay was the son of James Franklin Litz of Homer, New York and mother, Therese Castonguay Litz of Van Buren, Maine. They eventually moved to Orlando then Oviedo, Florida.

They are both predeceased. The keepers of his cherished memories are his brothers Andy Litz, John Litz (Denise), Aaron Litz (Shannon), nieces Janelle Litz Musselman (Jake) & Brenna Litz Bell (Darren) and sister Anne Litz White and niece Katie White. He is also survived by the Morse family including his mother-in-law, Priscilla Dale Morse, father in law Richard Edward Morse, Sr., sisters in-

law Jeannine LaRonde, Pamela Morse, Karen Blackmon, Diane Morse and predeceased brother-in-law Richard Edward Morse, Jr., along with many other beloved nieces and nephews.
