- Janice Condon McCarthy, 82, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017, at a Houlton healthcare facility. She was born February 23, 1935, in Patten, the daughter of Manley and Abbie (Dunn) Condon.
She was married to Harold McCarthy for 57 years and together they had five children, three sons Barry, Bob and his wife Ann, and Donny McCarthy; two daughters, Debbie McCarthy and Michelle Williams and her husband Danny, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Janice is survived by one brother, Albert Condon of Presque Isle, a brother-in-law and his wife-Phil and Carol McCarthy of Winslow, ME, brother-in-law Vernon Austin of Houlton, ME, sister-in-law Arline McCarthy of Biddeford, ME, and a sister-in-law Charlene Cunliffe.
Janice was a member of Rebekah Lodge for several years, worked at ACAP, JCPenney, and the Shoe Factory. Her passions included cooking for family, being with her husband and children, traveling to horse shows making sure any and all children and their horses got transported to the shows and traveling to fairs with her husband, who was a horse puller. They made a lot of friends throughout this experience including Fred and Susan Weeks and Bro Andy. She made sure her children had what they needed one way or another. She leaves behind a very special couple and friends, Richard and Nancy Corey. Nancy became her daughter for the past five years.
A graveside service will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at the Littleton Cemetery, Littleton, with the Rev. Steve Straubel officiating.
