Janice's Story

RIPLEY - Janice E. Cooley, 81, wife of Rufus Cooley passed away May 2nd 2014 at a Bangor hospital, after a short battle with cancer. Janice was born Jan. 13, 1933 to Morris and Minnie (Gilbert) Dulac.

Janice was educate in schools of Dexter and worked for Dexter Shoe for 25 years. She owned and operated Cooley Farm until her retirement 10 years ago.

Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Rufus; two daughters, Diane Harrington and husband, Carlson of Dexter, Pamela Fortier and her husband, Jake of Baring; one son, Omar Lanpher of Houston, TX. Also survived by one grandson, Brian Nichols and a special granddaughter, Marcia Dean of Ripley and her husband, Stacy Dean; several great-grandchildren, including two very special great-grandchildren, Hunter and Hannah Dean of Ripley; a special great-nephew, Allen Gray; one brother, Stanford Dulac and his wife, Linda of Ripley; two sisters, Delores Cunningham of MA and Shirley Roadfelt of FL. A special friend over the years and right till the end, Shirley Pease.

At Janice's request, there will be no funeral or visitation hours. Arrangements under the care and direction of Dan & Scott's Cremation & Funeral Service, 445 Waterville Road, Skowhegan.
